This superb 1843 Victorian Shield Reverse sovereign graded by NGC as MS 64 equal finest (TOP POP), and is bettered by just one single example by PCGS MS 65. A truly stunning example with only minimal imperfections.
Victoria (1837-1901), Sovereign, 1843, first small young head left, W.W. raised on truncation, rev. crowned normal shield in wreath, (MCE 503; Marsh 26; Bull 1064; S.3852). Extremely fine or better. Very trivial bag marks only.
Reverse :The Ensigns Armorial within a plain shield and surmounted by a crown. A branch of laurel is shown on each side of the shield. At the bottom the Thistle, Rose and Shamrock are placed with a small flower stop each side.
