2019 Queen Elizabeth II 'Falcon Of The Plantagenets' 1/4oz 999.9 Gold Proof Coin - Box / COA

The falcon was first used by Edward III of the House of Plantagenet as his badge. It descended to Edward IV, who took it as his personal badge, the falcon being standing within an open fetterlock. Originally closed, the slightly open fetterlock is supposed to refer to the struggle Edward IV had to obtain the throne — "he forced the lock and won the throne."

Throughout The Queen's Beasts Collection, the quarter ounce gold edition has proven to be particularly popular. Finished to Proof standard, the coin is an exemplar of the world-renowned precision and attention to detail for which The Royal Mint is known.
